Goal Setting

So as we come to the end of the week, can you look back and say it was a productive one in terms of your health & fitness?

Can you say that you did the work that was required?

Did you get all your workouts in and did you prepare your food each day?

If not, why not?

What’s holding you back?

I know that you ALL want results yet only a handful of you ever achieve them…

It’s not that you don’t have the ability or the knowledge…we teach that every week in this newsletter…

…and you can click on Google and get a million web pages telling you all the same stuff.

Let’s face it, if it was down to knowledge then we would all be extremely happy, slim, in shape, healthy, making a tonne of money and be truly satisfied with our lives…

But most are not…

Tony Robbins says…

“Change is never a matter of ability, it’s a matter of motivation”

We all got the skills, we all know what to do and we all know why to do it…

…but we need a big burning desire for things to change.

Let’s look at Lynne and Hilary for example.

They both wanted to look their very best for their wedding day.

Both set some pretty loft goals but not too unobtainable that it would stop them taking daily action into making the dream a reality.

Nothing will help you take action and promote laser like focus than a lofty goal…

This could be a wedding…a summer holiday…a sporting event or even just a set amount of fat loss over a period of time but it needs to be written down and it needs to have a set end date.

“I will run sub 23 min in my next 5km race on July 28th”

“I will lose 25lbs of fat and fit into my size 10 wedding dress on the 1st Sept”

And more importantly, you need to believe that you CAN achieve this goal, no matter what.

Many people, if you ask them secretly, don’t believe they can achieve their goals so subconsciously, through various forms, self-sabotage themselves…

…and then when they don’t achieve their goals, they adopt the attitude of ” see, I told you so, I knew I would never make it”…or lose that weight or whatever the goal was.

This becomes a self-defeating prophecy, which is the exact opposite to the positive version, the self-fulfilling prophecy.

What happens if you don’t make the goal by the set date?

You just adjust the date and keep working towards it.

You never fail.

You only fail when you give up.

I want you to think about what your health & fitness goals are at the moment.

Have you written them down?

Do you believe you can achieve them?

Or do you find yourself always coming up with an excuse to not get to the gym or that you are too busy to cook food the night before to take to work?

If you took just one hour this weekend and wrote your goals out in the above format, you would be amazed at what you could achieve over the next 1, 3 or 6 months…

One thing that I’ve learned from over 20 years in this industry is that the people with clear, defined, tangible goals are the ones that get results…

…no goals…well you know the rest of that sentence.
