I hope you all enjoyed Christmas and New Years Eve…
…but now it’s time to get serious again.
There are many things we should do as we move into 2023 but what about the negative habits and emotions that we all carry yet might want to leave behind?
Here are 7 things you might want to leave behind in 2022.
#1 Self doubt
Many people don’t believe in themselves enough to attempt the things they really want in life.
You are much stronger than you think and can achieve great things.
Trust yourself and your ability as you move into 2023.
#2 Self pity
You are where you are in your life right now because of the action you took or didn’t take.
You are exactly where you are meant to be.
This sounds harsh doesn’t it, but when you realise that this is the truth you can start to move forward.
Don’t moan or whinge about anything as you only have yourself to blame if you do.
Accept responsibility for everything and make the necessary changes in your life that you need.
#3 Negative self talk
You know that voice in your head, that says “I’m not good enough, I can’t do that or it just won’t work”
Leave that voice in 2022 and focus on positive self talk.
Feed your mind with positive, uplifting material and don’t read the paper or watch the news too often.
#4 Guilt
Many people are stuck from moving forward because they feel guilty…
…guilty about what they have done or haven’t done and become crippled and so do nothing.
Accept responsibility for what you have done in a given situation, apologise if needed and move forward.
#5 Anger
Anger is such a negative emotion and serves no one.
Many times, this anger can eat you up from the inside and very often the person you are angry with has no idea.
You are killing yourself and no one else with this anger.
Forgive that person if you can and focus on the good things in your life.
#6 Jealousy
Focus on you and your life and ignore what you THINK someone else may be doing in their life.
Social media can be great when used well but when all you see is the “highlights” of someone else’s amazing life it can make you feel inadequate or jealous.
Trust me, everything is not all rosy for everyone else and many will paint a false picture.
Comparison really is, the thief of joy
Work on yourself, where you want to be and what you want to do and ignore the rest.
#7 Fear
Fear is what holds people back from achieving their goals in life.
Fear of the unknown, fear of rejection, fear of failure and even fear of success.
Paralysis by analysis, it can be called.
“What if it doesn’t work? What if he or she says no?”
Well what if it does work?
You must face your fears head on and conquer them or they will conquer you.
Franklin D Roosevelt said “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself”
Wise words from Franklin.
Or as as I say to my “Flat Earth” friends (yes, they still exist)
“You have nothing to fear but sphere itself”
If you do one thing, after you act on my 7 points above, of course.
